This is Famke Janssen's movie. She's trying to not do the James Bond girl thing by playing someone perhaps less glamourous and more character driven. She plays an emotionally messed up magazine writer who churns out articles that are all about the 'confident, sexually aggressive modern woman' yet she is the exact opposite. She's had many relationships and is now with a jolly bear of an artist played by comedian Jon Favreau.

Here is a story about two fairly messed up and immature adults. They start on a chance with each other and they either break up or turn full circle. And that tends to be the whole story. There's 76 minutes of this so it may be in poor taste to point out how this story ends but you can probably guess by the disc cover.

Make no mistake, this is a "chicks' flick" - it too me about 15 minutes to realise that so I've save you guys some time. However I must admit that the pain won't last too long if you guys do end up in front of this movie. The supporting cast is also good but given very short screen time.

If anything, it's a very continental film in flavour.

The transfer is 1.85:1 anamorphic and it's a very good transfer. It's a very bright, clean and colourful image devoid of any imperfections worth mentioning. There's very slight examples of grain and haze but it's hardly worth mentioning.

This isn't exactly a large, prestigious production. It's a small budget movie that's been well served by a studio that's perhaps more used to 'bigger' movies.

Roadshow tend to use one sound format, they do it well and they use it here. The sound is 448k/s Dolby 5.1 surround. This is not the type of movie that would need that much as the film is mostly dialogue and the only time the surrounds or bass comes in is during the contemporary music.

It is of course, very clear and very relaxing to listen to. The vocals sound natural and have none of the glare you might be used to on TV.

It may be my misguided impression, but I felt that the music tended to jump in at a higher volume than I would expect - perhaps I had the volume turned up too high for clear vocals?

There's a no extras apart from a theatrical trailer and that is it. This is a single layer disc.

The movie is a scant 76 minutes. There are no extras. It's hard to recommend that you buy a disc that is presented like this even though the movie is quite good.

It looks like a rental disc to be honest. It's also a good 'date' movie however so you might want to feign some tears even...
