The Trade-Ins (Episode 96)
The New Life Corporation can transplant your personality from your aged, withered and dying body into a brand spanking new young, fit and attractive body. But like everything else in the Twilight Zone, a second chance comes at a price, of course. What will the elderly couple with only enough money for one new body do?

Sixteen Millimeter Shrine (Episode 4)
Day after day, night after night, an aging silent movie star sits in her home theatre room watching old movies of herself and her leading men up on the big screen. While everyone around her frets, all she wants is to be back in the old days, living it up with the people she knew, in the youthful way they looked back then. There’s nothing wrong with that, is there? It’s not like it’ll ever happen…

Mr Denton on Doomsday (Episode 3)
Al Denton is a has been gunslinger. A one time fastest gun in the west. A washed up quickdraw McGraw, if you will. But too many challenges to the title, and a dead sixteen year old kid has made him change his ways. Unfortunately, his way now is to get stinking drunk at the local saloon day after day. That is, until one day a travelling salesman in everything of interest gives him a magic potion which will restore him to his glory days. But with his rediscovered abilities come new challengers to the throne once again.

The Lateness of the Hour (Episode 44)
The daughter of a retired scientist loathes the emotionless servants her father has surrounded them with. With robots to feed them, massage them, and keep them happy for all their days, the daughter feels stifled and restricted in her sterile environment. Desperate for her parents to change their ways she gives them an ultimatum, one which will backfire like she could never imagine.

Twilight Zone volume 12 is another disc which contains three episodes shot on film, and one shot on video (The Lateness of the Hour). The film based episodes exhibit the usual quality and unique look which film gave the show, with a clarity and detail that far surpasses what we have been used to in the past with airings on television and sellthrough VHS. The same goes for the video episode, but the show tends to look cheap and the quality a little harsher, being constrained as they were to internal sets for the duration of the shoot and the limitations of the cheaper format.

The sound quality is on par with the majority of Twilight Zone episodes, with mostly reasonably clean clear dialogue with just the odd flat spot, but and no real problems to degrade your listening enjoyment.

The extra features on the dvd consist of a selection of text based screens for your reading pleasure. They contain a Rod Serling Biography, Season By Season Commentary, History Of The Twilight Zone and Reviews of the individual episodes on the disc. It’s not a particularly extensive package, but there’s some good (if a tad brief) info, with the reviews being quite interesting and a must read from disc to disc for some background on each episode contained on the dvd.
