Shriek - If You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th

Bulemia Falls High School - Home of the Hurlers. You just know that this parody is going to take it too far and yet you still sit glued to the tube just to see how bad it can get. Take a little from I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream, Dawsons Creek, Beverly Hills 90210, Grease, Friday the 13th, Porkies, Home Alone, Scooby Doo and more and turn it into more of a parody that Scary Movie has already done.

What little plot there is, is borrowed from the above movies but it's base is a mixture of I Know and Scream. It's the diversions on the side that bring their own spin on the movies into the picture. Boners, smoking your dead uncles ashes, Mr Hasslehoff and Pizza guys getting all the p*ssy.

With a cast featuring Tiffani-Amber Thiesen, Tom Arnold, Coolio and Shirley Jones you CAN go wrong and it certainly does. This comedy is so bad it's good. It's not for all tastes but if you've got a sick sense of parodic humor, you will enjoy this one.

The most obvious issue with the video is that it is heavily oversaturated, too much red baby, you feel as if you're in a butcher shop with their special lighting making everything seem flouro red. Everything else seems ok yet lacking in some real sharpness and detail. The black level is Ok but not great.

On the soundtrack side of things, a 2 channel surround mix is pretty ordinary to say the least. Don't expect too much entertainment out of this one. Musically, there are cues borrowed from Halloween and Scream with a rock soundtrack that also features a mock-up of the 'Pop-Up Video' show called 'Chop-Up Video'.

A hilarious directors commentary by director John Blanchard and actors Harley Cross (Dawson) and Danny Strong (Boner) start off the extras with a full-frame theatrical trailer and cast-crew biographies rounding out the rest.
