I remember seeing multiplicity in the cinemas and actually enjoyed it. Its a good story about a man who subverts to cloning himself in an attempt to better manage his life due to his busy household, his desperate-to-work wife and his hectic construction job.
Michael Keaton plays the role of Doug Kinney plus that of 2, a red-meat eating slob, 3, a sensitive new age clone and 4, a bad Xerox of a not so good Xerox. Yes, making a clone of a clone doesn't exactly reproduce all of the characteristics of a complex brain but it does increase the laughter.
And laughter is what you get in many scenes as the 3 new dougs try not to collide into their own worlds. But we all know that this is impossible and thats how the plot travels as you can see for yourself.
I must admit, the use of blue and green screening was put to good effect to make this film and it showed onscreen, even though there were some obvious imperfections in the effects. Those do not show on the lower resolution of your home tv so you'll be seeing the camera trickery as flawless.

Very good quality here, not exceptional but very good. In some of the effects heavy shots the image seemed a little sharper which was expected given the nature of the digital effect domain that appears on screen. You'll notice this in other movies too, most evident is the reduction in grain due to some digital noise reductions.
Colors are bright, shadows are detailed and dark when they need to be yada yada yada, another good video transfer from Columbia.

Hmm, I expected more out of this ssoundtrack and didn't get it. There are some scenes where we get to feel dolby digital as we should as in the scene where Doug is vacationing on the boat whilst throwing up over the side. The waves surround you in that scene and it is a big contrast to the rest of the disc at times.
Still, dialogue is crisp and clear and its good to hear the different voices Michael has used for his various characters.

Like I said, I liked this movie. There are some great scenes both funny and interesting. It may seem a little slow at times but for the type of movie it is its probably the best of its kind so far, with a small mention to the family scene in the Nutty Professor.
